Statement of Rights

Your rights when using MyCareSpace

MyCareSpace is an online platform that helps you find and connect with aged care service providers. We are required by law to tell you about your rights.

What MyCareSpace does

We operate a website that connects you with registered aged care providers. We check that providers displayed on our platform are registered and meet legal requirements. We receive referral fees from providers when you connect with them through our platform.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Make your own decisions about your care and support.
  • Have your personal information kept private and secure.
  • Complain about our service or about a provider without fear of any negative consequences.
  • Access your personal records when you ask for them.
  • Receive clear information about providers, including their registration status and any restrictions on their services.
  • Choose which providers you want to connect with.
  • Change your mind about a provider at any time.
  • Be supported to exercise your rights, including getting help from an advocate if you need one.
  • Live your life the way you choose, including making decisions that others might see as unwise.

Your safety

All providers shown on MyCareSpace are checked to ensure they are registered with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. We also check that their workers have been screened as required by law.

If something goes wrong

If you are unhappy with our service, you can make a complaint to us. You can also contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission for help.
