Am I eligible for Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA)?

An SDA eligibility checklist

A person is eligible for SDA funding if they have:

1. An extreme functional impairment

This means they have an extremely reduced functional capacity in:

  • Mobility and/or
  • Self-care and/or
  • Self-management

(you only need one)

OR

Does the person have extremely reduced psychosocial functioning in:

• Mobility and/or
• Self-care and/or
• Self-management

(you only need one)

2. Very high support needs

The person has lived in SDA for a long time and transitioning to another housing option would impact the person’s capacity and support

OR

The person has a very high need for person-to-person supports, either immediately available or constant, for a signifcant part of the day

This is just the first step in determination

There are a number of steps after these initial questions that will help to determine Specialist Disability Accommodaiton (SDA) eligibility.
