WEBINAR: How to Find NDIS Clients
This webinar is delivered by the team whose is connecting NDIS Providers with Participants, Support Coordinators & LACs.
Their insights and experience are real-life and hands on!
-
Visit your local NDIS Local Area Coordinators (LAC)
You can find your local LAC offices on the NDIS website. Search for NDIS LAC offices here
TIP: Ask to speak to the Community Engagement Officer (each LAC office should have one) and tell them about your specific community events.
For example: "We have a morning tea every second week and would like to send you some information about it." -
Connect with your Local Support Coordinators
Support Coordinators will typically work with Participants with the same disability and/or in their local area.
Use the NDIS Support Coordinator Finder to get a list of Support Coordinators in your local area, visit their websites and find out exactly who they are supporting.
Get in touch and tell them why your services are relevant to the disability they support and the area they operate in.
TIP: Don't send generic emails to them. Try calling and following up with an email relaying SPECIFIC information that is of interest to them.
For example: "We provide peer mentoring for people with Spinal Cord Injuries in Geelong and our team is made up of people who have an SCI themselves." -
Get to know your local Council
Each local Council has a responsibility to support their disability community. They have a 'Disability and Inclusion Plan' which outlines how they will deliver this support.
Determine the surrounding Council areas relevant to your business, visit each council's website, find out what they are trying to achieve, and let them know how you can help them support the disability community. Ask to be included in their newsletter.
TIP: Share SPECIFIC information about how you can support the community and help them reach their outcomes. Make sure you refer to the local area.
For example: "We are holding a weekly book swap at Liverpool library supporting people with intellectual disabilities. Can you share it in your newsletter?" -
Create a personalised website
There are many NDIS websites that look the same and say the same thing! Keep your website simple, genuine and relevant. Do not get carried away with flowery language about your mission and values!
TIP: Use real photos of you and your team. Tell your story and share the success of your clients. Do not refer to your services by the NDIS Registration Groups - use plain English and specific examples of your service delivery and quality.
-
Join Forces with other Local Providers
Build relationships with other local Providers offering complementary services. They may be disability Providers or not. This will allow you to share the cost of your marketing spend, build your brand faster and make the community events you are advertising more appealing.
TIP: Everybody loves a free event so team up with the local cafe, gym or retail store to hold a cool event in the community.
For example: As a support provider, you can team. up with the local gym to offer a free supported sports day. Or team up with a local disability play equipment company and hold a play day. Hold an event showcasing both your services locally. -
Join the MyCareSpace Platform
The MyCareSpace platform receives over 115,000 page views a month from people who are ONLY looking for NDIS services and information. Your detailed listing (created by our team) gives you access to a very targeted audience, which means you will receive value for your marketing dollar.
The MyCareSpace Provider team wants to help you find clients (so that you stay on the platform) and so our goals are aligned: They will also provide support in all areas of your NDIS Business: insurance, legal, accounting and HR.

Finally, you will have noticed that we have mentioned the word SPECIFIC many times. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to let people know exactly what you are going to do to support them. Vague, generalised statements in emails, websites and marketing material is wasted.
