Top 3 ways way to help Support Coordinators save time
I think that almost every Support Coordinator we have supported at MyCareSpace shares a couple of common challenges:
- They are always short on time
- They struggle to bill for all the hours they spend with the NDIS participants they are supporting.
We believe that on average, a Support Coordinator spends no less than ¼ of their billable hours looking for NDIS providers. That's 6 hours out of every 24!
This may be time spent on checking a provider's capacity, service delivery options, skills and experience and the location where they are actually delivering their service!
Add to this the time needed for planning, timesheets, case notes and of course, actually speaking with their clients, and you can see just how challenging time management can be.
We would like to use our experience (and conversations) to offer Support Coordinators these 3 time-saving tips.
- Use MyCareSpace to find NDIS Service Providers. A third of our users are Support Coordinators and LACS who come to us to find NDIS providers with the capacity (especially for therapies), skills and experience they need. We send them provider options to choose from. Easy.
- Use a recording app like Microsoft Outlook's voice mail (record and then email a voice recording to yourself) or a free transcribing app called Otter to record your case notes as you finish a visit with your client. Preferably as you drive from appointment to appointment or back to the office.
- Use a timer app like Toggl or Harvest to keep track of billable hours.
Spend more time with your clients
Not spending hours looking for providers and doing admin means you will have more time to spend with your clients, helping them to build their capacity and to get the most from their NDIS funding. This is what you do best.
