Topic: Workshop: Using Trauma-Informed Care and Language Leads to Improved Participant Outcomes and a Safer Working Environment

This introductory workshop is developed especially for NDIS Support Coordinators, Recovery Coaches, LACS and other NDIS Providers supporting Participants who have psychosocial disabilities or who have experienced severe trauma.
We will explore how the use of trauma-informed care and trauma-sensitive language can:
- deliver improved outcomes for people with disability who have experienced severe trauma.
- facilitate and improve communication
- protect and equip support teams to deliver care safely
Build your awarenes and skills in this workshop so you can offer better support and feel safer during support delivery.
Speaker: Angus Thomson
Angus has deep experience in supporting people with disability who have trauma backgrounds.
Angus has 12+ years in delivering and managing high risk care in various SIL, OOHC residential and disability group homes, as well as in emergency respite, and foster care.
Angus is also a nationally accredited PART trainer (Predicting, Assessing and responding to violent and Assaultive behaviour).
