Located in North Ryde NSW, Sound Expression provides music therapy and music lessons for children and adults with special needs. Sound Expression is an NDIS service provider as well as FaHCSIA/HCWA provider.
Iani is a Registered Music Therapist with over 18 years’ experience working within the disability and aged care sectors. Iani has worked with early childhood intervention programs, community disability groups, special needs schools, aged care facilities as well as private practice, and uses the Nordoff-Robbins improvisational approach in her work. Her passion lies in working with children with special needs including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Music therapy is the intentional use of music by a university-trained professional who is registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association. Registered music therapists draw on an extensive body of research and are bound by a code of ethics that informs their practice.

Iani is a genius
I recently attended a session with Iani and a client and her son (ASD 3yrs) and during the 45 min long session there was a visible difference in the child''s demeanour and anxiety levels as Iani worked with him through different types of instruments, weaving in elements of speech therapy and working on pre-reading and numeracy skills. She has the most amazing energy and its clear to me now, how she has achieved such amazing results with children of all abilities over the years. Lets just call her the music whisperer!!
