At onPsych, we understand the challenges facing schools today. Whilst many students find school a threatening place, others have trouble controlling their anger. As well as school-based problems, many students exhibit the signs of being unable to cope with pressures from their home life. Left untreated, these students frequently develop more serious mental health problems, require additional school staff time, and disrupt the learning opportunities of other students. Schools are frequently faced with inadequate resources to deal with the mental health requirements of their students.
onPsych is here to help. onPsych provides another level of behavioural and mental health care for students at school, at no cost to the school or parents.
onPsych uses an early intervention model. We prefer to support students, parents and teachers, with social emotional and behavioural problems as early as possible, rather than waiting until a crisis occurs. Our overall aim with our students is not only to support them academically but also emotionally and socially. OnPsych services offer a high-quality level of support, which is formalised, ethical, collaborative and free to the student, parent and teacher. All onPsych staff are either registered psychologists or registered mental health social workers.
OnPsych services are provided on-site, at the school. We value working collaboratively with school welfare teams, school counsellors, teachers and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people across Australia. A Health Care Plan, with clear outcomes, will be tailored for each individual. Through Medicare, individuals are eligible for (up to) 10 individual sessions and 10 group training sessions each year, at no cost to the student or the school. Your school has no financial obligation for the psychological services provided.
onPsych currently operates in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA.
