What is Music therapy
Music therapy helps people who experience conditions that affect mood, thinking, behaviour, communication and movement, such as autism, mental illness, physical disabilities, dementia, stroke, neurodegenerative conditions and more.
Registered music therapists support people of any age, ability or background. They work across the full age spectrum – from newborn children through to older adults. And they work in all sorts of places – from hospitals and healthcare centres to prisons and private clinics – to help people deal with stress, discomfort and pain.
You don’t need to ‘be musical’ to benefit from music therapy.
