Community Activities and Life Skills
Fairhaven has a range of life skill support options to assist people living with disability. We focus on the goals and aspirations of each person – we encourage you in making your own choices to increase your independence.
Our team of qualified support staff are highly skilled professionals who value and respect peoples abilities, and encourage clients to achieve personal goals. We practice a flexible and creative approach to learning while working collaboratively with families and carers.
We focus on individual needs and goals to ensure people increase their independence and are better connected within their communities.
Our weekly activities program has been designed to develop skills, promote self-confidence and build social networks. Classes are led by experienced facilitators in a friendly, supportive environment. All Monday-Friday activities are held in the community hub at Fairhaven, Point Clare.
Supported Employment
Fairhaven is the largest provider employer of people with disability on the NSW Central Coast!
When you work with Fairhaven you’ll learn new skills, receive workplace training, and best of all – enjoy being part of a great team!
Our two social enterprises, Pacific CoPack and Re-Create provide meaningful employment and real life work experience opportunities for over 130 people living with disability.
You will need to have ‘finding and keeping a job’ in your NDIS plan to be able to work with us. Speak with our Employee Relations team to arrange a site visit.
Contemporary Living Options
Fairhaven has been providing supported disability accommodation on the Central Coast for over 30 years.
Our qualified and experienced support team work closely alongside people who live with disability, in your own home or one of Fairhaven’s residences, to ensure personalised support is based on the individual’s day to day needs, with particular focus on skill development within the home environment. Our focus is to enhance the wide variety of abilities of all residents to enable you to live as independent a life as able.
Our contemporary living options can be tailored to suit your specific needs. Choose the level of support that works best for you:
- Drop In support for residents who have a relatively high level of independence and only require some assistance a few hours each day with tasks such as budgeting, menu planning, support with health needs or developing and maintaining positive social relationships.
- Sleepover option for residents requiring more hands on support. We arrange staff support at all times while you are at home and also available during the night, if required.
- Awake Night option is specifically for residents who have complex needs requiring support 24 hours per day.
NDIS planning
If you need help or advice preparing for your NDIS First Plan or follow on Plans, it is important to be well prepared for a planning meeting. Our team of support coordinators have a wealth of knowledge and experience in guiding Central Coast families through the planning process. We understand that just as no two disabilities are the same, no two people will have the same NDIS Plan.
