Who Are We?
Asperlutely Autsome Inc is an Adelaide-based not-for-profit organisation. We are a community organisation formed by families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in order to support each other and to reach out to other families facing similar challenges.) Entirely staffed by volunteers, we organise social groups, events and weekends away that are ASD friendly.
We give individuals with ASD the opportunity to build skills, socialise and participate in activities that might otherwise be difficult for them. As families living with ASD ourselves, we know that holidaying and getting out and about in the community can be difficult. Our loved ones can become easily overwhelmed, and members of the public often have negative reactions to challenging behaviours.
We aim to:
- facilitate an environment that is rich in acceptance and diversity
- assist ASD children to develop social skills in a non-judgmental environment
- give whole families time out with other ASD families
- provide opportunities for families to develop support networks
- promote social inclusion
- help everyone feel welcome and accepted.
