ASCT supports the culturally and linguistically diverse community; our client group speak 60 different languages and we have a diverse range of languages including Italian, Russian, Hindi and Vietnamese spoken by our caring team of staff and volunteers. Mandarin & Cantonese speaking team members are now available in the office Monday, Tuesday , Thursday and Friday with bookings and enquiries.

Travel training is a free service that will help you use public transport and increase your independence.

Access Sydney Community Transport can support you by providing training through two different modes:
- Group Learning Sessions
- Individual Support
Individual Transport
Health Related Transport
We can assist clients to a hospital or an allied health appointment. This door-to-door service operates Monday to Friday with first pick ups from 6:30am and last returns by 4:00pm.
We can take you to your local dentist or GP. Depending on where you live, we can take you to a hospital including:
- Prince of Wales Hospital
- St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney
- Hospital Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
- Concord Hospital
- Balmain Hospital
Requests for transport to health related appointments are in high demand. Clients must request transport at least 2 working days in advance.
Social Access Transport
Need a trip to the hairdressers or to visit friends? Individual Transport to social activities is provided in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. The drivers provide a door-to-door service but will not remain with the client during their social activity.
Group Transport
Access Sydney Community Transport has a fantastic range of shopping options available during the week, to suit all levels of access requirements. These are door-to-door services.
ASCT clients are transported to local shopping centres with assistance provided on and off the vehicles as required. On the return trip when the bus may be laden with shopping as well as people, our bus assistants will help carry the shopping bags back to the client’s door.
Cost: A $5 contribution is required for a return trip. Please check with the office for a shopping bus near you.

Social Outings
Book your seat with Access Sydney and explore the best of the city and its surrounds. With a broad range of destinations, this is the perfect way to experience what greater Sydney has to offer! We organise a number of social outings each month. Some of the destinations include:
- Shellharbour
- North Head
- Palm Beach
- The Blue Mountains
- Market Tours
- National Parks
- Museums and Art Galleries
- RSL Clubs, Cafes & Restaurants
- Seasonal Fruit Picking
- Wineries & Egg Farms
Cost: All trips cost $10.00 per person for the day. Entry fees and lunch costs are not included.
Assisted Shopping Project
This service is provided in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. It is for clients with limited mobility who require assistance while they are at the shopping centre.
Flexible and tailored to the individual mobility needs of each person, shoppers are assisted in and out of their homes by a trained paid worker and transported to the shops. They are then accompanied around the shops by either a paid worker or volunteer to assist with shopping, paying bills, banking and other activities at the shopping centre.
Shopping Centres for Assisted Shopping include:

- Surry Hills Shopping Village
- Marrickville Metro
- Eastgate Bondi Junction
Cost: The cost of this service is $8.00 for a return trip.
Village to Village Shuttle Service
The City of Sydney Council funds the FREE Village to Village Shuttle Services which are provided by Access Sydney Community Transport. The Village to Village bus is a free hop-on, hop-off service which enables residents of the City of Sydney to access local businesses, hospitals, shopping centres, restaurants and universities. This service was developed to help residents who were unable to use our other funded services because they did not fit the criteria.
Bus Hire Service
To hire a bus or driver from ASCT you must first register your organisation with us. Please note that ASCT buses and drivers are primarily used to conduct ASCT services, however if there is spare capacity they can be hired out to other organisations.
