How to change NDIS Plan Managers

A good NDIS plan manager should not just pay your bills on time (although this is important to keep providers happy).

They should be easily contactable so that they can support you to use your funding properly.

They should also make sure you are not over or under spending! So what happens if you are unhappy with your plan manager?

You have the choice and control to change your plan manager at any time!

How do I change my NDIS Plan Manager to Plan Hero?

Here are the 3 simple steps to change your NDIS plan manager

  1. Decide who your new plan manager will be - We would like to recommend our number one choice: Plan Hero Plan Managers
    Plan Hero is a small specialised Plan Manager that has a team based in Australia. You will receive your own dedicated Plan Manager who will take the time to get to know you and your family, making sure you are supported.

  2. Give your current plan manager written notice - send them an email telling them you wish to cancel their services. You need not give a reason why and they cannot say no. This will need to be completed by the participant or authorised rep. 

    If you have a new NDIS PACE plan, you need to contact the NDIA on 1800 800 110 and give them the details of your new plan manager:

  3. Complete the Registration form of your NEW plan manager

Key points:

  • It is your choice to have a plan manager that meets your needs
  • You can change plan managers at any time (not just at a plan review)
  • A plan manager cannot stop you from leaving, nor ask you to explain why
  • There is no cost to move to Plan Hero if you are unhappy with your plan manager
  • Your old plan manager will continue to provide services until the notice period ends (usually 30 days) and then your new one will take over
  • If you have an NDIS Pace Plan you only need to notify the NDIS of your decision to change.
  • Your new Plan Manager will help you manage the process.
  • Your Plan Manager should have an amazing app online and on your phone so you can manage your claims, service agreements and check your spending levels.
