Allowah disability support services provide a variety of services under NDIS for children under the age of 19. Short term accommodation/ respite is staffed by recreation and nursing staff. There is a Registered Nurse available at all times. Night shifts are awake shifts. Children with physical and/ or intellectual disabilities including those with complex needs eg. epilepsy, peg feeds, medications, sleep disorders, CPAP support are well managed at Allowah.
Therapy services are provided for children under 19 years and include Speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Therapy Assistant and a Dietitian. Early Intervention services for younger children are provided including support at pre-school, Day care and school.
Vacation Care is centre-based. The children have activities provided by the recreation staff assisted by nursing staff. Medications, personal care and feeding are provided by nursing staff.
Social and recreational activities are provided for children through the day. Children can have fun at Allowah, socialise with their peers and enjoy recreational activities, while parents and carers have a break or do activities for themselves or with other members of the family
After school care includes an evening meal. The child will need to have their own transport to the centre (the school bus will sometimes assist).
