About

Bila Counselling & Support Services aims to assist our participants to make authentic, meaningful, and mindful choices in their own lives.

Who We Are

Our diverse team of counsellors, support coordinators and highly trained support workers provide specialised and person-
centred support to individuals and families, focusing on setting and kicking goals! 

We believe that finding the right support can provide the fertile ground to nurture growth, grow confidence, build skills, and
facilitate a full and independent life for individuals with diverse needs.

Finding The Right Support

At Bila, our aim is to provide specialised and individualised support for people with autism. Our specialised staff work with participants to recognise their strengths, establish their needs, and create step-by-step plans to work toward their personal goals.

ASD / CP Specialised Services

Our ASD Specialised Support Workers are trained to work with individuals and families with diverse needs. All our Support Workers, specialise in ASD and Cerebral Palsy and support clients to work toward their goals of increasing their community engagement and skill confidence. 

1. Establishing Goals: Work with the Bila team to establish your personal goals and the type of support you would like to receive.
2. Find the Right Support: We guarantee a great personality match by providing 'Meet Me' pages and hosting a meet and greets before you commit to a new Support Worker.
3. Support Plan: We can assist by providing daily or weekly schedules to help you establish routines and engage in exciting new experiences.
4. Goal Reviews: Keep track and celebrate your progress with regular progress reports! 

We also have group events occurring weekly modelled around participants with Autism.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION / HOME SUPPORT

At Bila, we provide a range of services for any individuals these can include:
Establishing personal goals and daily routines.
Developing new skills including daily living skills, communication and social interaction.
Support in daily activities such as shopping, cleaning and attending appointments.
Support in accessing and participating in the community.
Facilitating self-advocacy and empowerment
Personal Care and Support: showering, dressing, grooming and continence management
Domestic Support: cleaning, laundry services, gardening, and light home maintenance
Meal preparation and grocery shopping
Use of Assistive Technology such as aids and appliances, hearing and communication devices
 

RESPITE CARE & SHORT-TERM ACCOMMODATION

Respite is available every day.

Non-residential respite -  This may involve someone coming into your home to care for a family member with a disability or accompanying them to activities in the community.  Activities include:

  • Social Sports and recreational activities.
  • Daily tasks and chores.
  • Tutoring and helping with daily workloads.
  • Goal setting.
  • Healthy living.

Residential respite - This can include short-term stays away from home. Activities include:

  • Camping trips
  • Hiking and Adventure activities
  • Getaways
  • Men's grooups Mon & thursday  incl bowling, pot luck, movies, laser tag.
  • 3D printing groups  5 yrs - adults - Wed - Friday

COUNSELLING SERVICES

Our accredited team of counsellors can also work closely with your family and friends so they can support you on your journey toward better mental health, ensuring you have the best support network around you to achieve your goals.

Psychosocial Recovery Coach​

Psychosocial recovery coaches provide expertise and guidance to help the participant access resources and maintain recovery and independent daily living skills. We do the following:

  • Develop a safe and recovery enabling relationship with our clients.
  • Assist participants' engagement with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Provide coaching to improve recovery skills and build capacity, including decision making, resilience, motivation, and self-advocacy.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader systems of support.
  • Help design, plan, and action recovery planning.

Support Coordination

Our Support Coordination service helps you get the most out of your NDIS plan while ensuring the services you choose to deliver on your needs, expectations, and goals. Our support coordinators can help you:

  • Bring your NDIS plan to life
  • Access the supports and services that are important to you
  • Find the most compatible services providers
  • Create and initiate service agreements
  • Monitor progress towards your goals to assist you in future NDIA planning meetings
  • Assist you in managing the financial aspects of your NDIS plan
