What we do

Hello and welcome to Neurosoma!

Who we are

Neurosoma is a group of NeurOptimal Neurofeedback practitioners in Glebe NSW.

What we do

Neurofeedback is a kind of brain training which teaches the mind to self regulate. It is safe and non-invasive and has excellent and documented results, especially for psychosocial disabilities such as PTSD (including complex and any kind of trauma), Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sleep disorders (including insomnia), depression and anxiety. Neurofeedback has also been found to be helpful for physicial, neurological and degenerative diseases.

How effective is it?

Many NeurOptimal users report life changing results** including:

  • Improved sleep, in quality and duration as well as a shorter time to fall asleep.
  • relieving symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and any kind of trauma response.
  • improved cognitive ability and clarity for people with “foggy” thinking, due to injury or life circumstances.
  • Improving the lives of children suffering from social challenges and communication difficulties or focusing on school work.
  • improving the symptoms of stress, which often fall away

** Observational Studies and survey from over 3m hours of NeurOptimal neurofeedback in 11 countries.

I’ve tried every kind of traditional and alternative method of treating my PTSD and nothing worked on all aspects of it until NeurOptimal. I would have been happy just to have an improvement in my symptoms, never thinking it might be possible to remove them completely.

Within a few sessions, I felt less lethargic throughout the day. My sleep also got better (falling a sleep faster), and I would wake up with less “grogginess”. Also my stress levels throughout the day have reduced a lot.

I must say, I didn’t know what to expect considering that Neurofeedback seemed so foreign to me. After a dozen sessions, I felt much clearer, less distracted, and my thinking more open to possibility. As a mental health practitioner and yoga instructor, I would like Neurofeedback to “brain training” and an integral part of mind-body health.

In the beginning the benefits of the session would last for a bit, but then revert back. After 8 sessions it lasted for 2 days. After session 11, there was a significant improvement – he came downstairs later in the day and said he was just able to sit and work on a project he had been avoiding for 2 days. He’s now been getting himself up in the morning by 9am to work on song-writing instead of sleeping until 12pm and being mad at himself later.

I suffered from Complex PTSD since I was a very young child. The symptoms of flashbacks, nightmares, severe sleep disorder, somatisation disorder, hormone imbalance, constant triggering and bouts of severe depression were always with me. I spent years in and out of psychiatric hospitals and on large amounts of psych meds. I honestly don’t know how I survived, let alone functioned. I felt hopeless and in despair.

After 3 months of daily sessions of NeurOptimal neurofeedback, all my symptoms were reduced in intensity, frequency and duration and I was sleeping 7-8 hours a night. By 6 months, my sleep disorder was completely cured and nightmares and flashbacks reduced to once or twice a week. By 9 months, I was reducing my psych meds under the care of my psychiatrist (who’s a big supporter of neurofeedback) and starting to take up painting again, which I hadn’t done since my early 20’s. Two years after starting NeurOptimal and I have a future to look forward to. It has literally saved my life.
