What we do

What we offer

Hello and Welcome to Button Support Services!

Who We Are

please introduce yourself and tell us why you became a disability service provider (E.g., 'My name is _ and I started this organisation _ years ago because _)

How We Are Different

We are unique in the wat we specialise in matchmaking children and young adults with a disability to age appropriate, personality specific and relatable support workers. This fosters the development of genuine and sustainable relationships and allows both parties to thrive.

Our matchmaking process ensures participants are matched appropriately with support workers who will become a role model and friend.

This process starts with a series of free meet and greets that include:

  • Free meeting between you/your family and the potential worker
  • Free meeting between you/your family and ourselves (the founders David and Ryan)
  • Free meeting between the whole team! (you/your family, us and the worker)

What We Offer

It is important that our workers are more 'friend' or 'peer mentor' than carer. We have found that building a connection with your support worker leads to better outcomes - that means you kicking your NDIS goals!

So, how can we help? Our young and passionate workers can support you with the following:

  • Daily living activities
  • Social engagement
  • Independent living skills
  • Accessing the community
  • Mentoring and peer support
  • Homework/tutoring support
  • Looking after your physical wellbeing
  • Employment and job support

We are able to support families in the south, west and central parts of Melbourne. Please get in touch to find out how we can work together today!

Buttons have provided a great support worker, who is more a friend and engages with fun interactions.

David and the team have consistently been responsive and worked hard to find well matched support workers for people. The communication has been fantastic and they are always happy to work collaboratively for the best outcome.

Buttons are my go-to providers for my son. The staff have been unfailingly positive and helpful, and my son has had nothing but good, fun and safe experiences with them even when at his most challenging. They have always shown up, been prepared, listened, always been friendly and professional, and always been trained and capable. I would not hesitate to recommend Buttons for support services.

We have been extremely happy with Buttons support services. The support worker is lovely and very experienced. He has developed a terrific rapport with our son who sees him as more like a friend than a support worker

Buttons Support Services took the time to get to know our family and our challenges working with our Support Coordinator. They matched experienced Support Workers that are a great fit and aligned with our son's preference. I would highly recommend Buttons. They clearly showed a personal touch which is not always present with other organisations we have dealt with.

David at Buttons has provided a wonderful experience for finding and organising support for our son that matches him and our circumstances. All communication has been prompt and friendly and aimed at finding the best fit. The carers Buttons have matched us with have been wonderful and we look forward to a continued partnership.

Buttons worked with myself and my teenage daughter to ensure that we found a support worker who could be a true friend for her. The end result was a fantastic companion for my teenage daughter who is high functioning but lacks a good social support network. Thanks guys.

The employees at Buttons are very friendly and approachable. They got to know my child well before taking him out anywhere. My child has connected well with the staff. He has been out and really enjoyed himself in a safe environment. I recommend Buttons to anyone. They are great.

Buttons Support Services took the time to get to know our child and family, and matched a team of experienced Support Workers that are a great fit. Excellent ongoing communication means that we have peace of mind, any issues that arise are taken seriously and resolved effectively. I highly recommend Buttons.

Our experience of using Buttons to provide support for our two children has been fantastic. They have recruited (and trained) support workers who are enthusiastic and energetic and bring an atmosphere of positivity and can-do attitude to all of their interactions. While engaging in activities in a way that looks and feels much more like friendship than a support worker, they are also building self-esteem and confidence, modelling life skills, teaching empathy and promoting social and community participation. We have noticed a measurable increase in social skills and engagement from our children, and the whole family gets a real buzz when the support staff arrive! The model developed by Buttons is the most flexible and family/person centred we have experienced. We have really appreciated the opportunity to negotiate the shifts directly with the support workers in accordance with our needs and their availability, rather than being tied to fixed and inflexible shifts and rosters.

The team at Buttons have been inspiring in their dedication to best match young support workers perfectly to both of my ASD teenagers needs. I couldn't recommend them highly enough as a trusted agency to find lovely support workers for your family.
Buttons has been a great support for my son's needs. He is always happy to go with his carers to do a variety of activities, and obviously feels comfortable and positive around them. The carers are young, active, energetic and positive which is what my son needs. Compared to the older support workers, the younger ones are far more able to support my son in his interests (swimming, hiking, playing outside, running around, exploring nature, going to new places) and that active and energetic support and activity is exactly what he needs. He comes back happy, tired, and content. It's great.

Buttons have provided the support workers that we needed and support our needs in a team. Everyone involved is enthusiastic and experienced, nothing is too much for them. A wonderful support agency!
