What we do
What we offer
Who We Are
BCOGNITIVE provides person-centred, inclusive services that promote choice and control. We specialise in mental health and psychosocial recovery services.
We strive to provide therapists that you trust and feel secure with who are aligned with your goals and are competent to provide the professional service you need.
Through our qualified and compassionate mental health coaches, we support our clients to build confidence and motivation. We foster hope and build our client’s capacity to help them achieve their goals and increase their use of locally available supports to help them better manage the complexities of daily living.
How We're Different
We will develop a respectful, professional, and recovery-enabling relationship with all our participants, their families, relevant stakeholders, and carers. This relationship will be built on trust and a shared understanding of the participant’s goals and needs so they can focus on working through the ups and downs of their recovery journey.
WHAT WE OFFER
Virtual Reality Therapy
We are Mental Health Professionals committed to improving mental health through virtual reality therapy.
BCOGNITIVE is one of the first mental health practitioners in Australia to bring Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy to support & improve the lives of individuals with mental health challenges.
Check our website for more information on how it works and for what is available - https://www.bcognitive.com.au/vrta/
For our remote and rural clients, our mental health clinicians are also available for online consultations via Telehealth.
Mental Health Counselling
Our BCOGNITIVE counsellors are accomplished professionals in human behaviour, relationships and mental health and uphold the highest practice standards. Our counsellors have met our rigorous selection criteria and have real-world experience looking after clients and helping them along the way to more fulfilling lives, whatever the goal.
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching
Our Recovery Coaches will work collaboratively with participants with psychosocial disabilities, their families, carers, and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan and assist with coordinating the NDIS and other supports.
Based on the individual needs of our participants and their preferences we will endeavour to match our participants with the most suitable recovery coach. Our recovery coaches will engage with the participant and support them to take more control of their lives. Additionally, the recovery coaches will support the participant to better manage the complex challenges of day-to-day living and articulate and own what a contributing life means for them and their families.
Mental Health Mentoring
BCOGNITIVE specialises in one-on-one mentoring, advice and support for people living with Mental Health conditions.
Our Mentoring Program supports participants aged 15 to 55 who are experiencing early signs associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm.
BCOGNITIVE mentors understand that living with a Mental Illness affects both your mental and physical state. Thinking clearly becomes hard, maintaining social and personal relationships can become a challenge and making good decisions can seem impossible.
With a combined experience of over 10 years, BCOGNITIVE offers a fifteen-week treatment program for hoarding disorder.
The program is run by experienced mental health workers and is a tailor-made program that utilises a specialised form of cognitive behaviour therapy developed to treat hoarding. It aims to build life skills regarding acquiring, discarding, sorting and organising.
At BCOGNITIVE, we recognise a participant’s right to ‘choice & control’ and we ensure that participants remain in control of their possessions at all times, all whilst building participant capacity through focusing on the development of skills to deal with the hoarding behaviour.
BCOGNITIVE's respite options are like nothing you have experienced before. With experiences ranging across SA & interstate to seaside fun in the sun. If you can dream, we can make it a reality*.
We offer respite options that will enrich your life by offering tailored and memorable experiences outside the home setting.
Our team pride itself on facilitating some of the most amazing activities.
When you or your regular carer need a break, we will be there.
Social & Community Participation
Every year BCOGNITIVE develops an activity and fun-filled annual calendar full of opportunities for participants to enjoy the community and recreational activities.
Depending on the skill level, we support participants to access mainstream sports competitions, modified activities, or disability-specific programs.
Every person is consulted and has a say in what activities they would like to participate in. Supporting people to be socially inclusive and active members of the community is a priority.
At BCOGNITIVE, we understand that people in crisis need an immediate response. This is why we support people who are in the most critical of situations. Our emergency accommodation service is second to none. We have dedicated staff who work hard to ensure the best assistance possible at all times.
BCOGNITIVE is able to provide short-term emergency responses for people with a disability and/or their families who are in urgent need of support and have limited options available to them. Emergencies include things like critical carer stress, fatigue, illness, hospitalisation or other unexpected changes to living arrangements.
